Beans are great plants in desert gardens and landscapes for so very many reasons. We can find varieties to plant and harvest
any season in a vegetable garden.  This class will cover not only varieties but the unique adaptations of bean plants which enhance success in our gardening adventures!

A great example of "stacking functions" and sustainability, some members of the bean tribe can serve many purposes:  shade, attractive and edible landscaping for desert adapted gardens, and a source of food and habitat in native and wildlife supporting gardens. And, of course, beans are tasty and nutritious human food a
ll seasons of the year.  Come explore why beans are great plants for all desert gardens; review the seasonality and diversity of bean crops in vegetable gardens, and learn which ones are good alternatives for our landscapes.
